Welcome to the Balushka’s world. I have been around paper my whole life as my parents have a printing business in Ukraine. After obtaining a Master’s degree at the Institute of Math, Economy and Technology in Odessa, Ukraine, I moved to America to study fashion. While in school one of my professors asked me to make paper flowers for a photo shoot. Overnight I taught myself how to make paper flowers and since then it has been my passion and happiness. This is how BALUSHKA PAPER FLORAL ARTISTRY was born. 

BALUSHKA PAPER FLORAL ARTISTRY is based out of Houston, TX and the flowers are shipped around the world. My paper flowers are used to decorate special events, office spaces, music festivals, retail stores, galleries, fashion and trade shows, nurseries and are used for home decor. I deliver and set-up installations worldwide. 

All of my flowers are handmade in my studio. I choose the finest paper to create my flowers.  I take pride in what I do and appreciate the opportunity to live my dream. My inspiration comes from nature, geometry, travels, life itself, and from emotions I go through at the moment of creation. I love that my flowers bring love and happiness to people. The flowers always have something new to tell or show in their darts and folds, and they last.

At the BALUSHKA PAPER FLORAL ARTISTRY studio, paper flowers are being created, embellished with crystals, pearls and lace, stenciled and custom monogrammed. I also work with plastic, and soon to come – metal flowers for outdoors.
